Obituary for Donald "Dub" Anderson

Donald "Dub"  Anderson
ANDERSON – Donald “Dub” L. Anderson, age 82, of Sparta, went to his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 14, 2018. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lois Anderson; in-laws, Nigel and Olive Young; and brother, Karl Anderson. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Bertha Mae Anderson (Pinky); beloved children, Donald “Tom” and Nancy Anderson, Diana VanOeffelen, Beth Sproat, Debra Myszka, Duane and Kelly Anderson; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Race; sister-in-law, Eva Anderson; many nieces, nephews and special family friends, Julie and Jim Bresko. Dub grew up in Sparta, Michigan. He attended Sparta High School and participated in various sports and clubs. After high school he married Bert and together they started their family. Dub owned Anderson Milk Hauling and also began Green Lane Farms; where he kept busy to the great old age of 82 years before retiring. He was a member of the Registered Holstein Association and was nationally recognized for his cattle for many years. Dub was a 50 year standing member of the National Bowling Association; served on many community boards, committees, and was a member of Mamrelund Lutheran Church. Dub enjoyed traveling with his wife Bert throughout the United States, gambling, playing cards, driving tractors and spending time with his family. A special thank you and our deepest gratitude to the staff at Covenant Village of the Great Lakes, Holland Hospice of West Michigan, and the special caregivers at Elders Helpers, Carol, Wendy, Peggy, Lettie and Claudia. The family will receive family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service celebrating Dub's life will be held at Mamrelund Lutheran Church, 4085 Lutheran Church Road, Kent City on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at the church, with Rev. Dr. Matthew Deames officiating. A procession will take place to Idlewild Cemetery, 18 Mile Road, Kent City, MI.
